Abstract
High contact ratio (HCR) gears are more frequently in use because of their increased load-carrying capacity compared to low contact ratio gears, although they are very sensitive to manufacturing errors. The choice of quality grade has the major influence on load distribution on mating teeth, and consequently on tooth root and contact stresses. The stresses can be significantly increased if theoretical contact isn't equal to the real contact. In this paper the expressions for calculation of load distribution on spur involute HCR gears teeth with pitch errors are established. The use of these espressions enables better estimation of appropriate gear quality grade.
