Abstract
How can Modular Design (MD) methods support development of complex products? The problem addressed here is that methods can develop less transparency with the development of complex products, since the extent rises increasingly. Two selected methods in the context of MD are adapted to agile principles. Those are applied on two case studies. Different perspectives are depicted, a development process and a development project. The results show the integration of agile aspects successful in generating transparency. The paper concludes what is necessary to apply MD methods in an agile context.
