Abstract

In order to combine fast thinking and slow thinking in product development, a new approach to system modelling in the problem-solving process is developed. For this purpose, five different system modelling use cases are analysed and their activities are attritubted to to one of seven types of activities of the universal SPALTEN problem-solving-framework. As a result, this human-oriented approach can help understand whether activites are more related to synthesis or analysis and guide decisisons at which points in the process the use of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) makes sense.
